What is a Datasheet?

A Datasheet is an information sheet relating to a Product.

A Datasheet contains the features & benefits, uses and technical information, including spread rates, dry times and SDS links for a Product, these can be supplied to applicators or contractors.

What is a Specification?

A Specification is an information sheet relating to how a Product is applied to a Substrate.

A Specification includes the system of how products are applied to a Substrate, with consideration to the condition, environment, and location. This will include the substrate preparation and required number of coats and technical information related to the product.

What is a Project?

A Project Specification is a document containing all the Specification systems required for a Project, including the Schedule, broken down by Area and contains links to all Datasheet and Specification documents

Project Specifications are prepared for small and large scale jobs. They can also be used for Tenders and provide detailed schedules for Scope of Works.

DuSpec+ looks different - what has changed?

We have overhauled DuSpec+ from the ground up, with:

New document templates, with an easier to read format, increased imagery for Datasheets and Project specs.

A new Search tool with Filter options - designed to help you find the information you need quicker, easier and faster.

The new Project Library - pre-prepared segment Specifications - prepared by our expert so you have the Spec's you need for different project types.

Can I access the old DuSpec system?

No, DuSpec has retired. The original DuSpec was over 25 years old and had done a lifetime of work supplying technical product and specification information to customers over many years, so it is now time for a well-deserved rest. DuSpec+ is the new and upgraded version of the old DuSpec, with enhanced features and easy to read and access technical information.

How do I find Datasheets and Specifications in the new system?

Searching for documents is one of the cornerstones of DuSpec+, so we hope that it will be intuitive and easy.

The key word search which will provide suggestions on the words typed into the search bar, you can select from these suggestions or if you would like to see more results, press Enter and all relevant results will be returned.

To refine these, use the Filters to reduce the results until you find what you are looking for.

There doesn’t seem to be as many Specifications in DuSpec+ as there were in the old DuSpec?

That’s right! As part of our data cleanse we have archived many old and outdated Specifications, try using the key word search to find something similar or a replacement or speak to one of our Live Chat consultants to help find the right Specification for your job.

Can I share a Project Specification with someone else?

You can share your Project Specifications with colleagues on your project or with your Dulux representative.

There is a section at the end of the Project Specification where you can enter who you would like to share the project with - they must be a registered DuSpec+ user!

They can then search and find projects shared with them in My Project Overview.

I need a specification but I don’t know the specific product I am looking for?

No problem, you can type in the search bar, key words like the substrate type, the environment, etc, and there will be suggested results in the drop down bar, if nothing look right, press the search button and you will be provided with a larger range of results.

From here you can use the Filters to refine the results further based on the information you have.

You can use the arrow to see a summary of the Specification and the hover will provide a coating system.

How do I download or share a Datasheet or Specification?

You save the download from your browser, but we have created an even easier way to share and store documents, so you don’t have to worry about version control.

Once you have found the documents you are looking for it is now even simpler to share or copy - click on the Share PDF button and this will allow you to either send the document to someone or copy the link and you can paste into wherever you want to save your information, for easy reference at any time.
